John Davies is the Publicity Officer and a founder member of the Italy and Colonies Study Circle.

John has been a collector since childhood and became interested in the postal history of Italy and Libya after serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps in Libya.

From 1972 - 1985 he worked for the National Postal Museum in London, and from 1986 until his retirement, he was the curator of the British Library Philatelic Collections.
